December 30, 2016

Baobab Baum wissenschaftlich (Adansonia digitata), Affenbrotbaum, Johannisbrotbaum Ffotolia

Is the Baobab Hype a true Hype? The answer is simply yes and no!

As often in life there is no clear answer. The answer depens on who look into a matter and from which point of view.

Let us take a timely helicopter view on Baobab trees. The oldest know has minimum 1225 years. The biggest ever living plant is a Baobab. Glencoe in the Province of  Limpopo in South Afrika. Circumference 154ft (47m) diameter 52ft (15.9 m) up to 30m hight. WOW!

He is  a survival specialist who can store (for sure depending on his size) up to 100.000 l water. Yes, 100.000 l. And that is what he needs to survive since generations in the dry period in Afrika, Australia or Asia.

He always took good care for the population, honored as "Holy tree", described as Africas pharmacie, as milk substitute for small children and many more he does for human beings.

In 2008, BAOBAB DRIED FRUIT PULPE was authorized in the EU as a safe food ingredient and it was later granted GRAS status in the United States.

The Baobab fruit Powder contains carbohydrates, calcium, iron, magnesium, pectin, phytosterols, potassium, riboflavin, Vitamin C and more

The Taste of Baobab give an impression of sunny, balanced calmness to me. A flavor of slight sourness, pears, vanilla and banana. Try it ans let me know what is your experience.
